Jason Alan Fuller was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 4th, 1971. He was partially named after his late uncle Alan Wilson (of the band Canned Heat) who is known for singing the Woodstock anthem, "Going up the Country". Jason was soon traveling to concerts (on his mom's back) … and listening to Jimmy Cliff, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, Leo Kottke, and Canned Heat records. At the age of 5 his family moved to Hawaii and his mother started his formal training on the piano. After 6 years of classical training, his parents bought him a keyboard and he's been self-taught ever since...

Over the years Jason has been influenced by piano players such as Chuck Leavell, Professor Longhair, Gregg Rolie, Johnny Johnson, Keith Godchaux, Oscar Peterson, David Maxwell, Gene Harris, and Bruce Hornsby. After eventually moving back east and attaining his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1993, Jason immediately started playing professionally. In 1995 he moved to Tallahassee, Fl. to tour with the Black Creek Band and has been playing the Southern circuit ever since.

Jason has played with a slew of bands and has made a name for himself as one of the great rock/ blues pianists in the southeast. 1996 was the year of In Like Flynn. In 1997 he formed his own band, King Daddy Zeb, and released an original album called "Get the People Together". When KDZ disbanded in late 1998, Jason decided to become more of a hired-gun rather than playing full time with only one band. Since then he has played with the Charlie Mars Band, Kinchafoonee Cowboys, the Healers, Big C and the Ringers, the Nathan Sheppard Band, and Cosmic Charlie; sat in with bands like the Blue Dogs, Stewart and Winfield, Park Bench Blues Band, and Sister Hazel; and recorded on numerous albums including Sister Hazel's "Fortress". It's no wonder that Jason is called "Athens' Piano Man" and "the most sought-after sideman in Athens" by Flagpole Magazine and "piano-wonder boy" by The Red and Black...

Fuller says: "In the summer of 2001, I got the opportunity to play with one of my favorite bands in the world, Ween. The audition consisted of sending in a version of "Pandy Fackler" (off of their album, White Pepper) to the boys in New Hope. When I found out that I made an audition, I practiced my ass off for two weeks and ended up getting the job. I got to play some really great shows including Alaska, Red Rocks, the Fillmore, and the House of Blues in Vegas to name a few. Incredible stuff. I've included some pictures from the tour in that other section of this website... Anyway, their old keyboard player Glenn (who had played with them for many years before quitting) worked things back out with them in 2002. Apparently he said that watching me play with Ween was like watching someone fuck his girlfriend. Oh well."

In May of 2002, Fuller got a call to play with Marc Ford and the Sinners. (Mark Ford was the lead guitar player for the Black Crowes). It was a great opportunity to play with one of the best rock guitarists in the country. Berry Oakley Jr. played the bass. For those of you that don't know (but you should), his dad was the original bass player for the Allman Brothers Band. Pictures and music have been added to this site from that summer tour. Check it out.

In the summer of 2005 Jason toured Italy for 3 weeks with Tishamingo. This has to be one of the coolest gig opportunities of all time. Back line, beautiful hotels, transportation, food, unyielding support, attentive fans, party favors?! and the greatest Italian tour manager of all time (Francesco!)... Opened for B.B. King and Robert Cray at the biggest Italian Blues festival of the year in Pistoia. Played on one of the most famously beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Como.

Upon returning to the United States later that summer, Jason had an "American Idol" audition of sorts... and found himself hired to go on tour with Diana Degarmo! Diana came in 2nd place on the 3rd season of American Idol. (She got more than 10 million votes and lost by less than 1%). A great opportunity to further his name in the music industry and meet a lot of great people...and play with a girl with some serious pipes! All good things come to an end it seems - as Diana severed from her record label later that year and decided to pursue other avenues - She has since been in many musicals and has appeared on Broadway. When is the band getting back together?!!! lol.

Fuller has been super busy over the last couple of years splitting his time between the Kinchafoonee Cowboys, the Sensational Sounds of Motown, and the Last Waltz Ensemble. Check out their websites if you get a chance!
